Michelle Krusiec is an actor, writer and director with a repertoire of socially relevant, darkly comedic, female-forward characters and stories on TV, film, and stage.  For acting, read here.

As a writer, Michelle wrote and performed her critically acclaimed solo show, Made in Taiwanwhich premiered at the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival. The show sold out to audiences throughout the entire NYC fringe festival and encores, landing her an ABC talent deal. She was named by the Hollywood Reporter as one of the Top 10 Talents to watch. In 2012, Michelle was named Screenwriting Fellow by Center for Asian American Media and her feature script Shiny was a finalist in the Visual Communications media fund.

As a writer/director, Krusiec created, Bite, a psychological character study on trauma, which premiered at the 2023 LA International Shorts Festival. Filmed during the pandemic, Bite was made in the AFI Directing Workshop for Women. Nian was commissioned for Bite Size Halloween on Hulu by 20th Digital Studio and won Best Midnight Short at Palm Springs and Honorable Mention at Female Eye Film Festival. Nian is currently in its festival run, premiering at top tiered genre and Academy qualifying festivals all over the world including Fantasia, Brussels Fantastic, LA Asian, Woodstock, Calgary, HIFF, Beyondfest, Celluloid Dreams. A feature adaptation of Nian is in development with Worthen/Brooks for Hulu with Michelle attached to write and direct.

Michelle’s current slate includes producing Afterbirth directed by Tony Abrams and Adam Broder. Her next film Tiger Mom which she co-wrote, starring Ken Jeong, is in post production with Shaun Redick (BlacKkklansman) and Yvette Yates/Impossible Dream producing.

Michelle is a vocal advocate for Asian American visibility. In addition to numerous speaking engagements and panels, Michelle was the 2021 UCLA Regents’ Lecturer. She’s been honored by the state of California, Museum of Chinese America and the White House.
